Anticorruption: Canadian Legislation and its scope for companies operating in Argentina

Beretta Godoy´s Federico Godoy, Managing Partner, and Juan Sonoda, Partner, participated in a seminar on Anticorruption, Canadian regulations and cultural and social implications in Argentina and the world. The event took place on August 28th at the Canadian Embassy in Buenos Aires.
The seminar, targeted to companies doing business in the Argentina, included the participation of a Canadian lawyer, France Tenaille from Cassels Brock, Toronto office, to explain the particulars of the law, a sociologist, Verónica Mundt, to analyze corruption in business as a social phenomena, and Beretta Godoy’s partner, Juan Sonoda, to explain the main issues involved in the implementation of the law in Argentina vis à vis the local legislation. The Commercial Secretary of the Embassy, Dave Murphy, did the closing remarks and Federico Godoy, Managing partner of Beretta Godoy, moderated the panelists. The seminar was structured to provide a multidisciplinary point of view that would ensure a comprehensive analysis of the situation.
